Dwayne's Wednesday Robot Romper Room
Android Kirk: In the 1966
episode of Star Trek named "What Are Little Girls Made
Of?" Dr. Korby replaces Captain James T. Kirk with an
android. The plan is to take over the Enterprise and fill the
universe with robots. Kirk is able to alter his replacement's
programming to key Spock into the fact something is not quite right.
So, in the end Dr. Korby (a robot), Dr. Brown (a robot), Andrea (a
beautiful robot who has her programming altered by a kiss from Kirk,
naturally), Ruk (an evil robot), and robot Kirk all die in a kind of
robot holocaust. There is a question that must be asked here. If Ruk
and Korby are able to create robots shouldn't they also be able to
make enough robots to manufacture their own starship. In the long
term it would have saved a lot of robot's lives.

HAL 9000: HAL (Heuristically
programmed ALgorithmic
computer) was the computer that ran the spacecraft Discovery
One in Arthur C. Clarke's and Stanley
Kubrick's 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey.
It is also the computer that killed off the entire crew of Discovery
One save for one David Bowman. When asked
about this oversight HAL only had this to say, "Sorry about
that, Dave."

Around the Campfire Comment of the Day
As you may know, I run another blog called Around the Campfire. It has been around a while, so it regularly gets comment spam. This comment was posted on a story about a guy who has amnesia and thinks robots have taken over the world.

There was a rumor that she was dating C3PO, however it was soon found to be false when the paparazzi found 3PO in a hot tub romance with Johnny 5.

Good Robots Bill and Ted (aka Good Robot uses): Again in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. However, this time Bill and Ted are able to get some advice from God on how to defeat their evil robot replacements. They are sent to an alien called Station. Station is able to create the Good Robots Bill and Ted from common supplies found in your local big box hardware store. Although they do not look as good as their evil adversaries they are good back-up dancers. Good that is if they only dance they are asked to do is the "Robot".
