Replicant (aka Skin-job): The genetically engineered organic robots in Ridley Scott's 1982 Blade Runner. Replicants are created to do menial off-world labor. They are prohibited from returning to Earth. If they do they are hunted down by special police called Blade Runners. Such an officer is the burnt-out Rick Deckard who has to hunt down several renegade replicants roaming around the streets in 2019 Los Angeles. In the end he kills them all except the one he falls in love with and there is even speculation as to whether Deckard himself is a replicant.
