Dwayne's Wednesday Robot Romper Room

Arty-Deco: Another submission from Hardware Wars. Arty-Deco who is obviously R2D2's alter-ego is a canister vacuum cleaner with lots of goofy sound effects and a cheesy "holographic projector".

Halloween Story.

If you know me and/or Dwayne, you know that we really like Halloween. (What is not to like?) In fact, last year for Halloween we put together a book of horror stories called Terra Mortis which is still available for download at Amazon.com.

Anyway, each year, Dwayne writes a story suitable for the season. This year the story is titled Around the Campfire.  It is a good one! There are a few familiar names in it!  You can read it here.

Dwayne's Computers That Byte

Bomb #20: In the 1974 film Dark Star the crew of a planet destroying starship has to deal with a belligerent computer on Thermostellar Bomb #20 that refuses to launch or stop the countdown. Just a bit of advice, if a bomb's computer thinks it is God do not have it recite the Bible. "Let there be light" will be the first and last thing this "God" will create.

Friday Iguana

This stunning iguana is from St. John in the Caribbean, which I am sure it is a lot nicer there than it is here today. Have a happy Friday!

Dwayne's Wednesday Robot Romper Room

4-Q-2: In 1977's Star Wars farce Hardware Wars 4-Q-2 resembles the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz. He moves about and does talks a lot like his alter-ego C3PO.

Daily Rock Band Name: Blue Honey

As a kid, I think I saw the cartoon where Blue Honey open for The Archies.

Dwayne's Wednesday Robot Romper Room

Robert Golem (aka Rob, Bob): Richard Young plays the robot in the 1986 made for TV movie Assassin.   In the movie, Robert Conrad has to track down an assassin who is a robot created by the "agency". The robot's creator made a list of those he felt were not conservative enough that the robot must kill.  Who knew that Sarah Palin could make robots?

Daily Rock Band Name: Geometric Terrariums

The debut album of the Geometric Terrariums called Excuse to Buy a Cactus should be available soon.

Dwayne's Wednesday Robot Romper Room

M-4: M-4 was another robot found in the Star Trek: The Original Series episode "Requiem for Methuselah". M-4 was Flint's guard-bot and gofer (and looked a bit like the psychotic satellite Nomad). M-4 witnesses Kirk kissing Rayna and as it is about to attack the captain when Spock destroys it with a well place phaser blast. Isn't that the way of life -- you are about to make out with a sexy android and a killer robot comes along and ruins everything.
