David Swinton (aka Mecha David). In the movie
A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, the Swinton's son is diagnosed with a rare disease. The family did what we all would do. They put their son in suspended animation until a cure is found and purchased a mechanical replacement named David. Once everything gets settled, the cure for the disease is found. Hence, the family is forced to choose between their living son and a robot. In other words, David is abandoned and must fend for himself with a friendly gigolo mecha. Surprisingly, the world is not destroyed by a child robot who must forget about love.
