William Shatner

In honor of William Shatner's new album (Seeking Major Tom) that just came out, I bring you one of his most memorable quotes.  "The wonder computer of the 1980s.  Under $300."  That is compelling stuff!

I should get me one.

I should think about getting myself one of these new fangled computing type devices. I just do not have the room for one.

More fun from Archive.org

Roald Dahl hosted a TV show in the early 1960s called 'Way Out. It is sort of a Twilight Zone/Outer Limits type show. They only made 14 episodes and Archive.org has 5 of them. Being before video tape, the video and sound quality are -- not great. However, I'll let you be the judge of the story telling. Here is the premiere episode - William and Mary. It is the story of a terminally ill man who is given the opportunity to live longer -- in a jar.

Isaac Asimov: Visions of the Future

2 years before his death in 1992, Isaac Asimov shot a pilot for a new science TV show.  Because we live in the future, that show is available on the web.  Here is part 1.

Get on this Detroit!

Why hasn't anyone made a modern one of these?  With today's technology, this could totally work!  Carbon Fiber Flying car -- oh yeah!  Also, Amphibian Dirigible WMAGNFARB!

TV in a car?

Those dreamers from 1958.  TV in a car indeed!  Next thing you will tell me is that it can be connected to a DVD player or something.  Perhaps even give directions or connect to the internet.  I guess if you dream...

A preview of the cars of 1961.

What happened to the Plymouth XNR?  That would be a sweat car to have, now that we live in the future!

Taking courses via videophone?

The thought of someone learning stuff at home on some sort of video screen?  Those people from 1962 sure had a vivid imagination!  See what else the future may have in store in the rest of this comic.
