Robot John

Robot John (aka Automaton John, John the Robot): In 1962, the Soviet Union came out with a movie called Planeta Bur (Planets of Storms) or under the US bootleg title Planeta Burg. With the US, "borrowing" this film, two US movies of roughly the same plot and dialogue were made. They are Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet 1965 and Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women 1968. In all cases, poor John ends up sacrificing himself so that his human companions can cross a lava flow, however in the Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women John's lava encrusted body becomes a new god for the prehistoric women.
